TOUCH SENSITIVE

The Vic Theater October 27th, 2023

October 31, 2023

It’s Friday night in Chicago. Halloween weekend to be exact. The energy is high. The lights dim and Australian musician Touch Sensitive takes the stage. Touch Sensitive is a solo project fronted by Michael Di Francesco.

Di Francesco is a multi-instrumentalist. If you weren’t looking at the stage, you’d assume there were multiple musicians performing. He would go from playing funky beats, adding more synth, and then topping it off with slapping his bass. Throughout the majority of the set, it was a bit hard to see him, but his bass epically glowed a lovely blue throughout the night adding more flare to his already playful set.

His energy was cheerful and engaging. His dancing led to members of the crowd grooving along as well. His most popular track, Pizza Guy was well received from the crowd. Even if concertgoers didn’t know him before, we are sure he won them over with his performance of it. It’s reminiscent of classic 80s synth yet somehow still feels modern? The analogue style synths and rhythym are the type of song one can play and let their mind escape for a bit. A club classic.

Lay Down was a notable part of Touch Sensitive’s performance as well. It started off sweet and slow then began to turn itself into a full blown dance party with electrifying beats. It was awesome to look into the crowd and to the sides of the theater and see people (myself included) letting their hair down and dancing along to Touch Sensitive’s awesome set.
